About Cohentia

Understanding the work between the systems.

Cohentia examines operating problems that cross systems, data, people and decisions, so leaders can see what the evidence supports doing next.

Deanne Nolte founded Cohentia to work this way. Her experience brings together audit, operational ownership, technology, documentation and governance, reflecting Cohentia’s belief that effective organisations are built on clear connections between people, processes and systems.

Clarity. Coherence. Continuity.

These are the values behind every engagement.

Clarity
Facts before opinions. The evidence comes first, and the recommendation follows from what it shows.
Coherence
Systems, data, people and process working as one connected whole, not separately optimised parts.
Continuity
A recommendation your organisation can run and adapt itself, not another dependency on Cohentia.

Experience across the boundaries.

At KPMG UK, Deanne supported a business-critical audit platform used by more than 1,000 UK users, covering operations, incident management, governance and documentation. She later led a turnaround for a growing SME, redesigning its finance and operational structure: revenue doubled, errors fell by around 75%, write-offs by around 50% and labour requirements by around 25%.

Deanne is a chartered accountant, CA(SA), a designation of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), granted in South Africa (membership number 30674974).

The operating problem is not always where it appears.

Cohentia makes a complicated operating situation easier to see without pretending it is simpler than it is.

A visible problem tells you where to look. It does not automatically tell you what caused it.

The same backlog, workaround, missed target or failed change can come from very different operating conditions. The decision changes depending on which explanation the evidence supports.

Cohentia works from the concrete reality first.

What is happening?
Start with what can be seen in the work.
What may be behind it?
Separate what is known from what is assumed.
What else does it affect?
Trace the connections across work, systems, data, capacity, ownership and decisions.
What does the evidence support doing?
Establish what needs to change, what needs to stay and what still needs investigation.

The new system is live. The spreadsheets are still running the work.

That does not automatically mean people are resisting the system.

The spreadsheets may be carrying workflow, reporting or exception handling the new process does not cover.

Establish what they are compensating for before deciding what to change.

An illustrative example: a question to investigate, not a finding about your organisation.

Diagnosis before another solution.

Cohentia does not sell software, take supplier referral fees or run the implementation.

The purpose of the Diagnostic is to establish what the evidence supports before another solution, hire, system change or programme is added.

That means the recommendation does not need to create the next piece of work for Cohentia.
